Alan is co-founder and director of the Department of Marketing.
Alan’s experience is extensive; from a graduate marketing trainee (Dip M) at Mira Showers to head of marketing at a £300 million PLC. Having sat in-house for many years Alan has a unique insight into the challenges faced by our clients. He has a hands-on approach and believes in down to earth marketing practice; he knows how to get the most from a marketing budget, big or small. He is also driven by a passion for lead generation, but more importantly for our clients he is dogged in his determination for a result.
Alan is a qualified marketer (Chartered Institute of Marketing) and has a track record of brand launches, new product development, key account management and account handling, full budgetary responsibilities, marketing and digital strategy and social media planning. He’s also one of a select few to have been a judge at RHS Chelsea Flower Show; sitting on the show committee he judged the Best Trade Stand! What Alan doesn’t know about exhibitions isn’t worth knowing…
He also understands the impact of a marketing campaign on sales activity thanks to his key account management role, working with large DIY retailers including Wickes, Travis Perkins and Grafton Group.
Alan’s sector experience includes DIY and builders merchants, fenestration, trade counters, bathroom suppliers, garden products, retailers, local authorities, ceramic tile retailers and wholesalers and house builders. His work spans both B2B and B2C and includes international and agency experience.
