QUALICOAT UK & Ireland: Future-proofing Facades Conference

The UK & Ireland National Association for QUALICOAT approved companies, QUALICOAT UK & Ireland (QUKI) employed Department of Marketing to deliver a turnkey service for an international two-day conference and exhibition, along with an evening dinner and drinks reception at the Building Centre, London.

The event targeted active and prospective QUKI members, architects and specifiers of powder coated products.

QUALICOAT is a quality label organisation with a global presence.  They are committed to maintaining and promoting the quality of powder coating on aluminium for architectural applications.

Activity

Over a six-month period we planned and executed the event:

  1. development and content creation for a stand-alone event website, connected to Eventbrite
  2. social media campaign (including paid LinkedIn)
  3. pre- and post-show B2B PR, including press briefing at the event
  4. timetable schedule and liaison with national and international speakers (inc. keeping everyone on time!)
  5. budget control
  6. professional photography and video (presentations have since been edited into snippets and shared by QUKI for training and insight).
  7. event management over the two days, including identifying a suitable venue, organising catering, etc.

Results

  • 100 attendees on the day (130 registered).  Target 50.
  • evening event sold out
  • all sponsorship opportunities sold.  Funds offset against budget.
  • event delivered under budget.
  • over 1000 unique visits to dedicated event website
  • 23 pieces of coverage in key B2B press.  This includes publications in which QUKI had not previously featured.
  • PR reach <250k
  • LinkedIn performed exceptionally well during the period 1st March – 30th June:  Followers: ⇧ 326.5%.  Page views: ⇧ 418.7%.  Unique visitors: ⇧ 347.7%.  Reactions: ⇧ 458.2%.  Shares: ⇧ 388.9%.

Comments:

In response to the project review and statistics, QUKI secretary, Jan Lukaszewski commented:

“Outstanding, nothing else describes the effort and results.”

Post-event, Jan said:

“I want to thank you all for making our event an outstanding successful event.

“Yesterday before the morning break I counted 14 empty chairs there were 100 set out!

“I want to thank Holly and Alan for their effort, particularly, the venue was perfect the food great and absolutely worked like clockwork and we even finished on time.”

I really appreciate all your and Alan’s efforts for the conference.

As you both know these events are plenty of effort and not guaranteed to work.

I think this one did - in large part down to DoM!
